Scope and Contents

This small body of reports and bulletins was gathered from multiple sources into an artificial collection. The most valuable item is a set of annual reports from 1873 to 1877. All of the rest date from 1960s, with the latest from 1967.

Scope and Contents Medical artifacts dating from early 19th century to mid to late 20th century are found in the Kornhauser History Collection and include diverse items among which are surgical and medical tools as well as other items used by medical professionals. Scope and Contents Along with the Louisville Medical Institute portion of the collection are the Caldwell, Gardner, and Keeney collections. Emmet Field Horine, M.D., willed two collections from his vast personal library to the Kornhauser Health Sciences Library. These include publications by and about Charles Caldwell, M.D., and books and journals on phrenology, Mesmerism, animal magnetism, the water cure, and hypnotism. Scope and Contents

This collection consists of an oversize scrapbook of autographs, biographical sketches, portraits with captions – all related to Dr. Simpson. The provenance of the eight items is unknown. The materials date from 1862-1874.

Scope and Contents

The papers were assembled from scattered locations among the holdings of Kornhauser Health Sciences Library in 1983, in an effort to make them more accessible for research. The collection includes original manuscripts by the Yandells, and a number of printed pamphlets and journal extracts, as well as photocopies of article by and about the physicians.
