Felix Coblens was the winner of the annual prize for the best notes on the lectures of Professor Lunsford P. Yandell Jr for the 1874-75 session of the University Of Louisville Department of Medicine. The leather bound volume contains a considerably condensed version of Dr. Yandell’s presentations on therapeutics, and occupy 456 pages, plus an index.

Albert A. Marrett won the prize for the best notes on the Clinical Medicine lectures of Dr. Lunsford P. Yandell Jr for 1873-74. His notebook appears to be an almost verbatim transcript of the lectures, and occupies 679 pages, including the helpful index. In each lecture Dr. Yandell describes a number of cases, comments on diagnosis, offers prognoses, refers to previous cases of his own and of others, refers to his observations on similar conditions and diseases in Europe and remarks on...

The papers were assembled from scattered locations among the holdings of Kornhauser Health Sciences Library in 1983, in an effort to make them more accessible for research.
