Scope and Contents Ten holograph letters from Albert Schweitzer to Gerhard Herz and two mimeograph appeals, with holograph notes and signatures, addressed to “organists and music authors” to find employment for Dr. Herz whose academic credentials had been denied by the Third Reich. This collection includes correspondence dating from the early 1960s to 1990, materials from various music organizations, awards, research and lecture notes, information from auction houses, and manuscript material for Bach Sources in America.
