Content Description

A collection of photocopies of letters to and from Justice Louis D. Brandeis that were collected into a binder by the University Library. This collection is divided into three sections. The first consists of letters written by Brandeis to individuals connected with the University of Louisville, including Presidents Colvin and Kent, and Dean Anderson of the College of Liberal Arts. These letters were given to the University Library by Raymond A. Kent, president of the university. The second group of copies are of letters written to Brandeis. These were presented to the library by Brandeis, and include letters from a variety of politicians and other leaders, including Franklin D. Roosevelt, William Taft, Woodrow Wilson, and Walter Lippmann. The final group of letters were also written to Brandeis and are of unknown provenance.
