These materials consists of a number of bound ledgers and journals created by the Office of the University Controller and its predecessor departments, 1911-1947. Prominent among these are cash disbursement journals which record payouts made by the university. Also included are journals specific to the Louisville Municipal College for Negroes, the Cardinal and other student publications, expense distributions, tuition books, and other financial ledgers.
University records more than 25 years old are generally open; however, some records may be restricted by statute or federal law.
