Microfilm of ordinance and resolution book for the town of South Louisville for the dates May 29, 1890 to August 1, 1898. The town of South Louisville was chartered in 1886. It was located between the present day sites of Churchill Downs and the University of Louisville Belknap Campus. The adjacent city of Louisville, chartered in 1780, sought to annex its small neighbor in 1894. South Louisville resisted annexation but the Kentucky Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Louisville in 1898 and the small city went out of existence.
