A memoir of the descendants of John R. and Ann Hourigan, from their roots in Ireland culminating with life in the Portland neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky in the 1920’s. This 355 page, spiral-bound manuscript contains a family tree, maps and images. The memoir covers the years 1854-1926 and was written ca. 2004. While this is based largely on fact, there are some fictional characters. Two Courier-Journal newspaper articles written by Doris Batliner were also included. The articles are: "The leprechaun at Macauley's," Courier-Journal, March 17, 2005 and "A defining time of our lives," Courier-Journal, January 28, 2007.
