Approximately 660 black and white photographs, various sizes and processes with some opaqued or air-brushed. Showing liquid storage containers at various sites in North America, 1887-1951. Since 1887 the Caldwell Tank Company, Louisville, has built large liquid storage tanks for sites throughout North America. This collection includes photographs of each tank assembled, including the installation site, most of which were within the grounds of factories and farms. These photographs, along with some mechanical drawings included in the collection, serve to document styles and types of storage tanks as well as locations. Photographic processes include albumen prints, printing-out papers, and chloro-bromide papers.
