437 photographs in five volumes. Various sized prints (mostly snapshots) from scrapbooks containing documentation of architectural landmarks circa 1920s. Item count is approximate. Warren Kellar Frederick was a native Louisvillian who compiled twenty notebooks, seventeen of which are extant, of diverse information on the history of Jefferson County, Kentucky, from 1780 to 1925. Patterns of land ownership in eastern Jefferson County and the stately residences built there were of particular interest to Frederick. He photographed or collected photographs of over 360 structures, most of which have been leveled or surrounded by suburban development. The images in this collection are held in the Photographic Archives; the notebooks with corresponding research are held in the University Archives.
