Gracie Lewis worked as a social justice activist for over four decades in Washington, D.C. and Louisville, Kentucky. She was former staff assistant to the subcommittee on Labor Standards in the 96th Congress. She worked for 15 years for the Department of Health and Human Services. She wrote articles for the Louisville Defender, the Courier-Journal, the American Baptist and ForSooth. This collection consists of Lewis' files primarily documenting her work from the late 1990s to the late 2000s.
