John W. Sloan distillery notes and photographs
Unprocessed Material — Box: Small Collections Box 1
Identifier: 2020_403
Content Description
Handwritten notes on the various departments and positions in the Joseph E. Seagram distillery, Louisville, Kentucky, along with seven photographs of the distillery's operations. Includes diagrams of machinery and notes for improving processes as well as labels from Silver Dollar bourbon, Marcy's Red Star whiskey, and Harmony whiskey. The occasional red-ink notes on the pages indicate it may have been created as a report; it is unlikely it was a student or internship report, as the creator began working at Seagrams after graduating from college.
