This series is subdivided into four subseries: Louisville - General History; Biographies - Louisville and Kentucky; Neighborhoods - Louisville; and Kentucky and Indiana - General History. All four subseries are arranged alphabetically by topic or last name, and all contain photographs. These files document the history of Louisville's neighborhoods, parks, landmarks, and activities, as well as significant individuals and families connected to the city and the Commonwealth. The subseries on Kentucky and Indiana history covers a variety of subjects from post offices, maps and quarries to architecture and the Civil War. There is some material from the 19th century, but the bulk is from the 20th.
