Summary The records include a few copies of a shipboard newsletter from the U.S.S. Louisville from 1941 to 1943 and a program from a Christmas celebration on ship in 1939. One issue of the Guinea Gold, an Allied military field newspaper, dated December 24, 1943, is in the collection. Scope and Contents The University of Louisville V-12 Papers date from 1943 to 1994 with the bulk of materials containing correspondence leading up to the 50th Anniversary Reunion of the V-12 Naval Officer Training Program in October 1993. Scope and Contents This scrapbook was compiled by Ms. Anastasia Faulstich, Clerk-Secretary to Mr. Veith. Content Description The "Victory News" was an informally produced newsletter, published by Sylvester Connell, and distributed world-wide to military personnel from the California and Parkland neighborhoods of Louisville, Kentucky. Most of the soldier recipients had lived in the vicinity of Victory Park, thus the name "Victory News."
