Ruth Lee Koch papers

Scope and Contents The collection is composed almost entirely of material relating to the Speed Scientific School (now known as the J.B. Speed School of Engineering), especially the work of its first dean, Bennett M. Brigman (1881-1938). As an employee of the university, Ms. Koch worked with Brigman during the early days of the Speed School, and in 1964 and 1965 she researched a brief history of that school. Leonard Koester papers

Content Description

Included in these papers is the Bulletin of Delta Phi Alpha, a German honorary society, from 1940 to 1973, and several of Koester's articles. A report, "National Youth Administration, U of L," published in 1937 is also present. A copy of German in Action: Conversation and Composition (1952) was added in 2005.

John Manning papers

Summary

The John Manning papers consist primarily of notes relating to lectures in the classes he taught at the University of Louisville in areas such as public finance, personnel management and economic history. The collection also includes material he produced in his service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and material on local governments. Also included are commencement materials from 1977 and 1978 and a copy of his master's thesis, Reconstruction in Kentucky.
