The Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) began as the Public Information Office in 1964; in 1973 it was renamed the Public Relations Office, and subsequently to the Office of Communications and Marketing. OCM handles both internal communication - including email distribution lists that go out to faculty/staff and students -- and external communication, including social media, as well as "traditional" media. They also establish branding guideslines for the University.
