This collection is made up of photocopies of notes made by Bernard Asman as a student at the Kentucky School of Medicine (KSM) from 1895-1897. The instructors documented here are Profesors Marvin, Holloway, Rodman, Mathews, Wathen, Tuley, Orendorf, Coomes, and Hays. The notes cover lectures, labs, and clinical instruction.

Bernard Asman, MD (1872-1969) was born in Morris, Indiana and lived most of his life in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from the Kentucky School of Medicine in 1897 and took additional training in rectal surgery at the the New York Post-Graduate Hospital (1898) and in Vienna (1903-1904). He taught the subject at his alma mater, at Louisville's Hospital College of Medicine (1898-1903), and at the University of Louisville School of Medicine (1904-1949), and practiced his specialty in Louisville.
