The collection contains an obituary of Dr. Evelyn Bush, two typescript stories by Edward Ellis Bush and an unfinished autobiography of Bush, which he started shortly before he died. There are also several lantern slides, presumably from Dr. Bush's practice, which show men and women doing various back exercises.

Dr. Evelyn Bush practiced osteopathic medicine during the first half of the twentieth century. She was born in 1871. Following the affliction of her son, Edward, with cerebral palsy, she became interested in medicine and graduated from the School of Osteopathy in Kirksville, Missouri, in 1903. She founded the Bush Sanatorium and was involved in several local and national medical societies. She died in 1962.
Edward Bush was the son of Evelyn Bush. He was a graduate of Male High and the University of Louisville. During a later literary career he wrote three plays and numerous scientific stories for children. He died in 1956.
