Records include minutes of the board of directors, correspondence, history, financial records, volunteer lists, and photographs. The documents range from 1942, when the local group was incorporated, until the late 1970s. Many of the photographs are not identified or dated but are of people and events, including anniversaries of the club's founding and holidays; several are inscribed to "Mrs. Ward" or "Mrs. Vick." The loose scrapbook contains photographs of USO events at the Louisville Service Club. As with the other photoraphs some of the people and events are identified and dated while others are not.

Biographical / Historical

The Louisville Service Club was the local branch of the United Service Organization (USO). The purpose of the organization was to provide a safe and wholesome recreation environment for off-duty armed services personnel. The local group was incorporated in 1942.
