Distillery reference collection

Consists of materials (apparently) acquired in the process of conducting oral history interviews with individuals connected to the distilling industry. Many were collected by Tom Syvertson, who conducted many of the interviews. Includes a permit to move a wine cellar from 1920, fact sheets and information on the distilling industry, both national and local. Contains numerous pamphlets on local distilleries and their history, including the Medley Distilling Company, a history of the "Old Prentice" distillery, and a photocopy of a Brown-Forman salesman's handbook from the 1950s. In addition, there is a folder of advertisements and newspaper clippings from the 1940s dealing with the wet/dry issue. The collection also includes a full run of the Distillers Feed Research Council's (DFRC) annual conference proceedings for the years 1947-1984, and a copy of the DRFC's Distillers Feeds Research. In 1996, the DFRC changed its name to the Distillers Grains Technology Council; as of 2005, it had office space on the University of Louisville campus.
