Biographical / Historical

Richard L. Drye was born in Bradfordsville, Kentucky in 1916. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, and in 1940 graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law. During World War II, Drye served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army, working in the area of counter intelligence in the Pacific Theatre. After the war, Mr. Drye returned to Kentucky, serving as Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Kentucky from 1946 to 1948, and as an Assistant Jefferson County Attorney; he practiced law in downtown Louisville. Mr. Drye passed away in 1986 at the age of 74.
