The Louisville Jaycees were organized in 1931 as a civic organization for young men. Its original name was the Louisville Junior Board of Trade. In 1947 the group's name was changed to the Louisville Junior Chamber of Commerce. It became the Louisville Jaycees in 1967. The Jaycees helped form a state chapter, what is now the Kentucky Jaycees, in 1935.
