Kentucky physicians Frederick Ridgely (1757-1824), William Henry (1761-1824), John Flournoy Henry (1793-1873), with Jane Ann Short (1803-1841) were members of three families prominent in Kentucky medical history. The papers center on these families and include correspondence, journals, photographs, notes, and a typescript as well as articles by and about Charles Wilkins Short (1794-1863), and a family history compiled in 1879. The collection also includes a rare ivory anatomical mannequin from the 1840s.
