Born in 1902 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, the son of a dental surgeon, Raymond E. Myers took pre-dental classes at Kentucky Wesleyan College before attending and graduating from the University of Louisville School Of Dentistry in 1926. He practiced dentistry in Louisville from 1926-1931 and began teaching at the school in 1926 as well. In 1945 he became dean of the School of Dentistry, a position he held until 1969.
