Eminent physician Henry Miller, MD, was born in 1800 in Glasgow, Kentucky and graduated from the Transylvania University Medical Department in 1822. Miller served as president of the Lexington Medical Society and was a member of the KΛ Society of Hippocrates before coming to Louisville to serve as Professor of Obstetrics and the Diseases of Women and Children at the Louisville Medical Institute (later the University of Louisville Department of Medicine) in 1837. In Louisville he served as president of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Louisville. He died in Louisville in 1874.
