This small collection of diplomas and other memorabilia from the life of John L. Hart, MD includes a short biography written by his daughter, two photographs from 1905 graduation from HCM, and three account books from his practice, 1905-1906, 1916 and 1916-1917.

John Lafayette Hart was born November 24, 1877 at Trimble County, KY, and died July 28, 1948 in Danville, KY as a result of an automobile accident. His wife, Eula Mae Brown Hart also died in the crash. Dr. Hart taught school and worked his way through medical school, graduating from the Hospital College of Medicine in 1905. He first practiced in Trimble, Pulaski County, at his home, then moved to Mill Springs in Wayne County. During WWI, he moved to Clintonville, KY to practice. After the war, he moved to Burgin in Mercer County and remained there until 1928. He moved to Bryantsville, and continued in his practice there until his death in 1948.
