Scope and Contents
The World War I letters between Benjamin and William Pike and family members were graciously lent by Allene Pike of Columbia, Kentucky, to the University Archives in 1993 for copying. Family members include their mother, father, and sister. Both Pikes served in the United States Army from 1916 through 1919 and both were stationed overseas. The brothers letters comment on weather, scenery, speculations about what is happening back home on the farm and pleas to have everyone write to them....
