The Cooperative Welfare Association served as the "company" union for the Louisville Railway Company, a private holder of Louisville's major street rail franchise. These records are minutes kept by that association.

Scope and Contents
This collection consists of material relating to Yater's interests in the history of Louisville, Kentucky and the history of rail transportation. There are also some personal papers and records from George and Marjory Yater. The vast majority of these materials date to the 20th century.
