Photographs and related material from the Cardinal, the University of Louisville student newspaper. Many of the photos cover sports, football and basketball in particular, although there are also images from features on Actors Theatre of Louisville, and the University's Interfaith Center, Photographic Archives, and Anthropology Department.

This collection consists primarily of records relating to running the newspaper: correspondence, budgets, material relating to a search for a faculty adviser for student publications, notes from meetings. It also contains records relating specifically to Murray v. University of Louisville, around the April 13, 1979 satirical issue.
