A collection of scrapbooks, pledge manuals, photographs, paddles and other memorabilia from the Beta Beta (University of Louisville) chapter of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. The Beta Beta chapter was founded in 1947. Many of these materials were acquired in conjunction with the chapter's 50th anniversary, in 1997.

Betty Smith attended the University of Louisville in the 1930s and belonged to Pi Beta Phi sorority. These seventeen snapshots were found in a photograph album belonging to Smith by her daughter and donated to the University Archives and Records Center in May 2009. They are labeled and date from 1936 and 1937.

Scope and Contents The records include correspondence with the national office that appears to be ribbon copies of letters to the national headquarters with carbon copy replies and other correspondence from 1943-1967. No correspondence with the national office is available for 1966 and 1967. From 1949 to 1967, the files include records of other chapter business, such as minutes, membership applications, by-laws, pledge manuals, intra-university memoranda, and committee assignments. Scope and Contents The Rodney Williams scrapbooks consist of eleven scrapbooks and a package of loose photographs. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, photographs, programs, menus, small publications, artwork, varsity letters and pins, and various other types of ephemera. The earliest material consists of report cards Williams received in grade school, and is very limited. The bulk of the collection begins in 1955, and covers events, people, and organizations he encountered in high school and beyond....
