This collection of materials on Elmer Lee Henderson, MD, consists of biographical information, artwork, programs, photographs, reference files, correspondence, certificates and clippings. Much of it concentrates on Henderson’s interest in the topic of socialized medicine.
Photocopies of Charles A. Hentz diary covering the period of his life at the University of Louisville School of Medcine. Of particular note are his notes on his role as assistant to Dr. George Bayless, Demonstrator of Anatomy, in his quest to procure bodies for dissection by medical students. Collection also includes a portion of his autobiography. Originals are at the University of North Carolina.

This collection was compiled by Louisville's noted cardiologist Emmet F. Horine on a variety of medical topics related to memphosis or surgical anesthesia. The collection is organized alphabetically by subject and there is an index, as well as correspondence, microfilm of pamphlet file, and programs from Kentucky State Medical Association from 1935 to 1960.
This is a collection of twenty-six bound notebooks on medical topics, and one issue of “The Hoosier Reservist” dated January 1940 addressed to Captain N.C. Isler, Med-Res.
Nine volumes of student notes prepared by Earl C. Jensen during his years at the UofL School of Medicine. Two of the volumes are soft-backed, and the Pathology Laboratory Notebook contains original drawings and appears to be typewritten. The rest of the volumes are hard-cover, mimeographed lecture notes compiled for sale to classmates by Dr. Jensen. This was done to support this family and appears to have had the approval of faculty members.
