Scope and Contents In February, 1932 President Raymond A. Kent and the Board of Trustees of the University of Louisville announced the establishment of the School of Music, and the appointment of Jacques Jolas as Dean. Jacques Jolas, a noted pianist, was sent by The Julliard School of Music in New York City to Louisville to serve temporarily as dean and to get the new school on its feet.
