Special edition, celebrating 125 years of publication, is dated September 19, 1993. This issue tells the publishing history of the paper, profiles some of the people associated with it, and recounts events since its beginning.
Archives has initial issue only. This was a weekly publication, published in Louisville.
"This index to the Louisville Courier-journal is the product of the ... staff of the Louisville Free Public Library from September 1917 through September 1977." Five additional reels were filmed in 1986 to include the index from 1977 to 1986.
Papers include two transcripts of oral history interviews conducted in 1989 by Jefferson Keith with his mother Alice Keith as well as an undated photocopy of "Memories of the Louisville Times in 1950's, collected by Effie Walsh before the death of Richard Harwood," with contributions by David Binder, Howard Bray, Bea Harwood, Dick Harwood, Alice Keith, Effie Walsh, and John Walsh.
Two newspapers (New Albany Daily Ledger and Louisville Daily Union Press) dated April 15, 1865, including reports of President Abraham Lincoln's assassination.
