A University of Louisville student newspaper of limited size and, apparently, duration. The first issue was two pages long (i.e., one sheet printed on both sides).
Photographs and related material from the Cardinal, the University of Louisville student newspaper. Many of the photos cover sports, football and basketball in particular, although there are also images from features on Actors Theatre of Louisville, and the University's Interfaith Center, Photographic Archives, and Anthropology Department.
Consists of nine issues of the Free Press of Louisville; an April 1, 1969 issue of the University of Louisville Cardinal; and material relating to the preservation of homes on Fourth Street and Park Street in Old Louisville, including blueprints.
Published in Louisville, Kentucky by Dr. P.R. Peters. Archives has v. IX, no. 52 (Jan. 21, 1911 - front page only). The same portion of an issue has also been microfilmed.
Special edition, celebrating 125 years of publication, is dated September 19, 1993. This issue tells the publishing history of the paper, profiles some of the people associated with it, and recounts events since its beginning.
This collection contains bound volumes of the Courier-Journal and Louisville Times. Microfilm editions are available in Ekstrom Library's Current Periodicals and Microforms department.
