Bernard F. Veith / Office of the Comptroller Scrapbook

Scope and Contents This scrapbook was compiled by Ms. Anastasia Faulstich, Clerk-Secretary to Mr. Veith. The scrapbook spans the years, February 1961 to November 1969, and contains newspaper clippings on the activities of the Comptroller's office, as well as the general political scene. There are a few photographs, a publication of the Louisville Fraternal Order of Police (August 1963) and a series of newsletters reporting the economic progress of the city.

Richard Vissing papers

Scope and Contents Richard Vissing, the first full-time mayor of Jeffersonville, Indiana, across the Ohio River from Louisville, served five terms from 1960 to the 1980s. This collection contains scrapbooks, photographs, and news clippings concerning Vissing's political career. There is also correspondence and personal papers, newsletters, printed material, and framed certificates.

Content Description This collection contains printed material, publications, notes, news clippings, and correspondence related to Walker's job as a UPI reporter covering events in Louisville during this time. There are also taped interviews and tapes of speeches and rallies in Louisville in the mid-1970s. The bulk of the collection relates to the issue of desegregation and busing of the Louisville/Jefferson County School System. Due to the small size of the collection, it was not organized by series.
