This collection consists of a typed, marked-up version t of Flexner’s autobiography, I Remember: The Autobiography of Abraham Flexner manuscript. This typed manuscript, however is tentatively titled Frontiers of Learning.
Abraham Flexner was born in Louisville, Ky, the son of German Jewish immigrants Ester and Moritz Flexner. He married Anne Laziere Crawford, a teacher, playwright, and children's author, in 1896. Flexner was an American educator, best known for his role in the 20th century reform of medical and higher education in the United States and Canada, culminating in the 1910 publication of Medical Education in the United States and Canada : a report to the Carnegie foundation for the advancement of teaching, sometimes called “The Flexner Report.”
