Biographical / Historical

Alvin Morton Churney was born in Louisville, KY, the son of Sam and Tillie Churney. He graduated from the ULSM in 1953, and practiced pediatric medicine for over 35 years in Shively, KY. Dr. Churney was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at ULSM, a member of the Board of Directors of the Fund for the Perceptually Handicapped of Kentucky, and served on the medical advisory committee for the Kentucky Easter Seals Society. He served in WWII, and was a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
