Michael Clark was born in 1940 and attended Flaget High School in Louisville, Kentucky; he attended St. Joseph's College in Indiana, where he majored in mathematics. A talent show led him away from mathematics, and into a him in another direction, and he pursued a successful career in music. His songs were performed by Kingston Trio, the Oak Ridge Boys and Jerry Lee Lewis, and he worked with John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, among others. Mickey Clark was a loyal fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team, as reflected in the songs on this cassette.
