The collection primarily contains items from Doolan's schooling at the Louisville Industrial School of Reform. These items are a book of Stephen Foster song lyrics presented to Doolan for his scholarship and deportment; an engraved ring and tie clasp; and a medal engraved with Doolan's name and grade point average. There is also one later item, a photograph of Doolan at age 46 in 1926.
The campus of the Louisville Industrial School of Reform was purchased by the University of Louisville and became its Belknap Campus.
