Ernest A. Terry, Jr. was the son of Ernest Alden Terry, Sr. and Ellen B. Hodgson in Fall River, MA. He graduated from Tufts University as an undergraduate, and received his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. He married Betty Jane Lambert and they had four children. Dr. Terry came to Louisville to accept the position of head of the medical department at General Electric Appliance Park. He was also the Director of the Child Guidance Clinic and taught at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, as Associate Professor of Occupational Health. Dr. Terry was shot outside his church in 1958 by a disgruntled GE employee.
