The collection contains reports, studies, manuals and files from the agency dealing with subjects such as the end of the adoption program, the national War on Poverty, and the Community Chest allotment formula. There are also photographs, typescript histories, a 1982 brochure and an agency history written by Warren MacNeill.
The copyright interests in the Family and Children's Counseling Centers Records have not been transferred to the University of Louisville.

The Family and Children's Counseling Centers (formerly the Family and Children's Agency) of Louisville is a private social work organization focusing on family and personal counseling which also advocates public policy changes for the benefit of the family. The agency was established in 1883 as the Charity Organization Society. The organization is a member of the national Family Service Organization of America.
