The Bill Gatton Highland Park Collection includes a town property ledger book (1890s); a 1982-1992 run of the Reporter; neighborhood association records,1980-1990s; and a large collection of personal photographs gathered from many sources, as well as historical documents and memorabilia relating to Highland Park. There are also files documenting opposition to airport expansion as well as documents from the Athletic Club of Highland Park from the 1940s.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Bill Gatton served variously as president of the Highland Park Neighborhood Association, editor of the Highland Park Reports newspaper, and neighborhood historian. Highland Park was a Louisville, Kentucky neighborhood that was founded in the 1890s as a separate town. It was destroyed in the 1990s by expansion of the Louisville International Airport.
