Office records and reference material from William Huffman. These materials document Huffman's service as Dean of the University College (1966-1977). They include clippings and reference material relating to the Foundation and University College, some of which date to the period after this service. The collection includes information about the Association of University Evening Colleges, the Center for the Study of Liberal Education for Adults, as well as correspondence, books, and six audio tapes.

William C. Huffman was a native of Columbus, Ohio and received his bachelors and masters degrees at Ohio State University. He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University. Huffman came to U of L in 1947 as a Business Administration professor. In 1953 he became dean of University College. From 1973 until retirement in 1976 he was Vice President of the University of Louisville Foundation. While at U of L he also served as an advisor to Phi Kappa Tau, hosted and produced University Today on WAVE-3, and was the director and president of the American Association of Evening Colleges (now the Association for Continuing Higher Education). Huffman was a member of the Louisville and Jefferson County Planning Commission from 1966-1972. Huffman, born June 2, 1910, was 77 years old when he died on April 8, 1988.
