James Morrison Ray, nephew and namesake of James M. Bodine, MD, graduated from the University of Louisville Medical Department in 1882. After graduation, he went to the Manhattan Ear and Eye Hospital, returning to Louisville in 1885. He joined the faculty of the medical school in 1886 as a clinical assistant in Ophthalmology, Otology, and Laryngology and served as a faculty member of that department until 1916. He never married, and was survived by two sisters when he died in 1918.
