Three issues (volume 1, numbers 1-3) of The Louisville Messenger Newspaper. In the inaugural issue, the staff described the Messenger as "a newspaper published by students of the University of Louisville, with emphasis on the African-American, and our social, political, and economic concerns." The Messenger was free, distributed on campus and to area churches and businesses, and sought to be a forum for African-American analysis, culture, history, and events. It was housed in the Office of Minority Services.
