The Preservation Alliance of Louisville Records span the period from the early 1970s to the early 1990s. The files were assembled by Edith S. Bingham, an early promoter of the organization and long-time Alliance board member. Ms. Bingham is a member of the family that once owned the Louisville Courier-Journal, the city's major daily newspaper. The records document staff and board activities, fund raising, and several campaigns by the Alliance to prevent demolition of certain historic landmarks as well as the promotion of their reuse. Buildings receiving special attention include the Seelbach Hotel, Monsarrat School, Brown Hotel, Vienna Building, Galleria (Will Sales), and UofL's Belknap Campus.
