This collection contains six account books, one prescription register, five framed pictures, medical bags, anesthesia masks, surgical instruments, a Bausch and Lomb microscope, an Adams Hemometer and hemacytometer and an Epstein’s micro-saccharimeter from the office of Dr. Shacklette.

Warner J. Shacklette was born in Meade County, Kentucky, the son of Daniel Ross and Annie Warfield Shacklette. He married Florence Rose in 1899; she died in 1933 and in 1934 he married Eleanor Bell of Larue County, Ky. He attended Kentucky State College (now the University of Kentucky), graduated from the Hospital College of Medicine in 1898 and the Louisville College of Dentistry in 1913. He practiced medicine in a log building in Hodgenville until at least 1938.
