This collection contains records from the American Association for the History of Medicine annual meeting held in Louisville in May, 1993 and some information from the Archivists and Librarians in the History of the Health Sciences meeting held in conjunction with the AAHM on the two previous days.
This volume includes how the society was organized and lists the early members, all prominent Louisville physicians. Most of the discussion recorded in the minutes are on medical cases and topics brought by one of the members to the attention of the group. These discussions are detailed, thus providing very good accounts of late nineteenth century medical practice.
This collection includes a small volume detailing the charter, constitution, membership and fee lists, and American Medical Association (AMA) code of ethics; and a large ledger of handwritten minutes of the meetings from 1872-1877, which has been partially transcribed.
This collection includes publications, proceedings, photographs, directories, and records of the centennial celebration.
This ledger contains minutes of the Louisville Medical Club regular meetings and membership. Tulane University's medical library owns the original of this record. This copy was made from microfilm produced in 1947. It is illegible in parts and barely legible in others.
