Scope and Contents Five clubs of the Business and Professional Women in Louisville, Lexington, and Paducah banded together in 1921 to form the state organization. By the early 1990s, the state federation numbered seventy-five active clubs. Historical records of the Business and Professional Women of Kentucky consist of minutes, publications, financial and membership records of the state chapters, programs, song sheets, and correspondence. Also included are records for the University of Louisville chapter.

Scope and Contents These business records of the Rebecca and Mary Shoppe for the period 1942-1947 were found in the basement of the Brown Building at Fourth and Broadway. This women's clothing shop was located in the building, at that time known as the Brown Hotel. Rebecca Aldridge and Mary K. Shuster were the proprietors.
