Content Description

The General was a historic steam locomotive stolen by Union spies in a raid during the Civil War. The reproduction was made for W.L. Danley, general passenger agent for the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway (N.C. & St. L.) Danley's name appears in an inscription on this lithograph. The original work is a water color.
